First Week = Check

It has been a very crazy first week. I have been trying to figure the best schedule and best places to be at specific times.

Earlier this  week, Tuesday I had my first Public Policy class. It is not a class I would pick on a regular day, but it might be good for me and understand how our society works. Later, my cousin took me to a Ramen place (I wish i took a picture! Next time). Delicious spicy soy bean soup  with noodles, pork and an egg!

Wednesday was the first day of my internship. Everyone wants to hear about my internship. Well, it is very surreal. I had difficulty getting into the building because my paperwork was not finished processing. I stood in security for awhile until I got a temporary pass-for the day. I ended getting to the building 40 minutes early, I was still 10 minutes late. When I did get in, I spent the day learning about the studio! Touring the facilities, it was a lot of information to take it. My first assignment was to make copies of dvds. I did that for the day. I enjoyed it, nothing too serious. I went out for sushi that night, again...I wish i took a picture! I was too hungry to even notice/care. I just ate it all up.

Thursday: Full day of classes. I discovered that I write too slow in my public policy class and will need to bring my laptop from now on. For lunch I discovered that NYU has its own Chick-Fil-A, the only Chick-Fil-A in the state (that might be wrong). I loved it, and will be going back. I had my American Musical class that evening! This semester, students will be reading one script a week and discussing it in class. By February, we will be reading Oklahoma, Sweeney Todd, Hair, Rent, Ragtime, and finally...WICKED. I think it would be fun!

Friday was my 2nd day of interning. Still no ID and I ended up sitting with security for another half hour. Finally made it upstairs. I had a few opportunities to work with producers on Friday! I helped transcribe tapes and be part of a segment. Sometime in March or April, my hands will be on TV - ideally if make the cut. I held products for a story =). Then, sorted mail. It was fun being able to see names I know. A part of me wants to be very tourist, but they are just doing their job. I must remain professional.

Friday night remained calm. I did not have any plans, but ended up exploring a new part of town. I went to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory and had two large scoops of Mango and Coconut Ice Cream. Yum!  Then, heading over to the Village I saw a cute mini-burger place called Food Fight.

Delicious. But, it cost me $6.40 for those little things.

Everyone should go here on Spring St. for Crepes. 8-9 dollars and made with the best ingredients. Also, made fresh. Mmmmmmm.

Today will be attempt #1 for Fela! rush tickets. Wish me luck!

Dear Readers,
I would like to get comments and see who is actually reading my blog =)
Thanks,
Jessica
