Traveling to the Otherside of the City!

My adventures here at NYC have increased significantly. Here is a summary of the last two days:

Tuesday: I met up with a few other students in the Spring in New York program and we headed to breakfast together. We shared stories about home and then headed to NYU for a campus tour. There wasn't time for pictures, just time for me to learn the area. The "campus" is huge. Obviously NYU doesn't own half of New York, but they have buildings scattered throughout the city. It's your job to get to them. The tour lasted 2 hours, my feet sore from walking. Then, we all headed back to Chinatown for lunch. Fortunately my years of poor Chinese, paid-off (somewhat).

By the evening hours, SNY arranged an even social. Met more friends, ate a s'more, and had my marshmallow catch on fire. Dinner was Sushi! I wish I had taken a picture of it...California Roll, Spider Roll, and a yellowtail piece.

Wednesday: STUDENT RUSH MORNING! Today NYU had nothing scheduled for those who moved-in early. I decided to take advantage of this moment and wake up at 7 for student rush tickets at Jersey Boys. I left my dorm around 7:30, backpack and all, to the big commercialized, super-saturated Times Square. The moment you walk up from the subway the bright colors smack you in the face. You can only stare at everything in awe. I walked over to a Jamba Juice and ordered a nice Strawberry Smoothie and searched for the August-Wilson Theatre. No one was there, I was first in line (8:30). Fortunately another girl lined up behind me so I was not the only one! The line remained two people until 9:00am. The line grew larger and larger. By ten, there were 20 people in line for tickets. Doors opened, and I walked in. =) "Two Tickets to Jersey Boys @ 8, please!"

Shopping with my cousin the rest of the day. He took me to the Lincoln Center and an area near the Public Library, I'm gonna take pictures when I go back--Beautiful new fountains and pavement constructed. Overall, I bought a bath rug.

Then---more internship organization. Lots of technical things that I can't figure out. Too many questions and possiblities. I just want the most I can get out of this experience.

Jersey Boys! My cousin and I were in the first row, ALL the way to the right corner. Our seats were partial view, underneath a staircase. At first it was moving very quickly and nothing made sense. Soon, the stage just exploded and by the end, I loved it!!! =) Good first show in NYC.

Next to Normal on Friday!!!

Today is official Orientation wish me luck
