Friday, March 5: After watching Race I thought it would be a nice treat to take Dan to Cosi. I know its a chain restaurant but, I enjoy the atmosphere the place provides. Actually, the bread pudding caught my eye weeks ago and I really wanted to give it a whirl Saturday, March 6: It was a very beautiful day! Starting off the morning's festivities I gave Dan a tour of NYU.
Located right by Washington Square Park (NYU Campus) is the house featured in I Am Legend. Concluding the tour was a stop by the school store and dining hall. Then, we headed to Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District.
One of the stores featured specialized cakes/cupcakes. Beautiful and well-crafted but when would anyone eat that much icing? Throughout the market were many individualized shops. It reminded me of First Fridays in Lancaster. The Meatpacking District is composed of historic factories/slaughterhouses transformed into chic boutiques. Moving on, Dan and I made our way to the High Line- a brand new park that runs through the factories and above many roads. A breathtaking view of the Hudson can be seen from the platform.
As the tour of the city continued, I noticed a building with the sign N-B-C. It would have been nice to be a historic television station! Instead I remembered the first ever Nabisco factory was raised in NYC. National Biscuit Company. Getting ready for the evening activities, we headed to 34th St. My eyes lit up when I ran into a certain government building...
This is me in front of the largest United States Postal Service building in the nation. I would like to go on a tour of the building, but people would call me crazy. For Dinner we stopped by Brother Jimmy's BBQ. Most delicious, greasy thing I've ever eaten.
A BBQ burger with onion straws and fire fries. Then, with an assortment of sauces, I dipped the fries. Then, I washed it down with an authentic delicious cherry soda. For Saturday evening's activity, Dan treated me to my first ever basketball game at Madison Square Garden! The New York Knicks played the New Jersey Nets
The atmosphere was incredible. With that being said, I spent 7.50 on a bag of cotton candy. Well worth it as the fans started cheering as the NYKnicks video began to play on the screen. Strobe lights and the loud music made it seem like a concert. Going into the game the Net's record was like 6-56. Knicks were SURE of winning.
We started off strong! Then, we kept falling for the same play over and over again. With a dozen 3 point shots, the NJ Nets defeated the NY Knicks. Depressing.
Sunday, March 7: I took Dan on a tour through Union Square and then NYU Brunch!
Sunday's activities included walking around Times Square and watching Memphis. After getting tickets we ran into a man impersonating Michael Jackson. Dan loved it :)
Memphis was unexpectedly an amazing show. The opening gets you excited and you're in tears by intermission. It's bittersweet when its done. Possibly one of my favorites since I've been here...

In other news, I want to mention my fellow Today Intern for making it onto the show and chest-bumping Matt Lauer. Hearing that news made me very happy.
I'm beginning my summer plans! Scheduling for Fall 2010 is upon us. I've been on Spring Break was was pleased to see a lot of familiar faces!!!
Until we meet again...:)
