Looking for a place to eat, foodies always put Lombardi's Pizza near the top of their list. It is considered one of the best in New York and one of the best in the nation. After my evening there, the pizza place deserves its very own post. Since my arrival, I have always seen the long lines and the tight space. It did not seem like a comfortable place to eat pizza. Saturday evening, my friend suggested giving the place a try. We planned ahead and left 30 minutes earlier than we would have to get a spot on the waiting list (No reservations on weekends). When we got there, the wait was 45 minutes. By 6:40 they called my name and it was like winning a sweepstakes. Everyone around you cheers and I was filled with excitement.
My friend and I were led downstairs (much more spacious). We ordered breadsticks and a small margherita pizza. In a small basket, the breadsticks had a crusty shell and a hot soft center. Possibly the most amazing piece of bread i've had. No seasoning, garlic, etc. Just bread and marinara. More noteworthy was the pizza. With a smokey bottom, the perfect thin crusted was layered with the right amount of sauce, cheese and basil. The couple next to us ordered a pizza with sausage...so impulsively my friend and I ordered another pizza with sausage and peppers. Chances are that with approximately 1.5 months left in the city. Lombardi's is a one time visit. The second pizza was flavorful and the thin slices of meat were matched with the lumps of roasted red peppers. Full from everything, I took four slices home.
Total: 28 dollars x 2.

Jesssss!! I haven't been commenting lately so here you go :-) Hope all is well! Seems like it is in the pizza department anyway! Definitely can't get pizza like that in Millersville!! When do you come back?? Looking at scheduling for next semester?? xoxo Dani
